R.I.T. 2012 – 15th Annual
Rochdale Invitational Tournament
Media Release
Michael A. Riffel High School and Winston Knoll Collegiate are proud to present the 15th Annual Rochdale Invitational Tournament (R.I.T.). This year’s tournament will take place over three days, February 2-4. This is an 18 team event, making it the largest junior basketball tournament in the province. It features some of the best junior basketball teams in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Games will be held at both schools. In accordance with the tradition of alternating the championship game venue, this year the championship and consolation finals will be held at Michael A. Riffel High School and the 3rd and 7th place finals will be held at Winston Knoll Collegiate. A three-day tournament pass is $12.00 and a single day admission is $5.00.
This tournament is a collaborative effort between both schools, staffs, parent groups and the public and separate school boards. As a result, this is the only tournament of its kind in the province. One of the goals of our first R.I.T. was to give our students an opportunity to work with the community to showcase their pride, sportsmanship and talent. We, the tournament committee, feel that this event not only encourages athletic involvement at the high school level but also nurtures the community spirit that flourishes in Northwest Regina. We are looking forward to your support at R.I.T. 2012.
Your commitment to Regina High School Athletics is always recognized and appreciated.
